Gnomish Treasure Chest for World of Warcraft prop art test, 2013
For this art test, I was tasked to create a World of Warcraft treasure chest in the style of any race found within the game. Almost everything that Gnomes try to engineer mimics something found in Azeroth, so I tried to match the rough silhouette of a classic Warcraft treasure chest. I used Gnome characters exclusively for the four years that I played, so it would be a crime if I didn’t try to make something Gnomish!

Rune Sword for personal project, 2013 (updated)Just added a quick rock & crystal base for the sword I made a while back. I painted some source lighting on it and added some floaty crystals. By fantasy standards of logic, this is now a magical sword!

Ancient Rock Golem for portfolio, 2013
Concept, model and textures by Jordan Powers
Originally, I was going to have this little guy covered in crystals, almost forming a prison of sorts. Then I decided that it would be neat to have him “deactivated” in a jungle-like setting. Whether the overgrowth is feeding off the magic or keeping the golem in stasis — the plants really help tell that story.

Rock Golem (work in progress)Currently working on tweaking the colors for a rock golem mini-scene (known as ‘Rockface McGee’) with the help of a friend. It’s amazing what a little color and some “sparkly, magical faerie stuff” can do. More updates to follow!

JKM-06 “Jackalope” battle mech for portfolio, 2013  (work in progress)
Concept, models and textures by Jordan PowersI was originally aiming to create a realistic Hawken mech for a portfolio project, but once I sketched out this mech I immediately loved the attitude and cartoony character it had. I named it the “Jackalope,” a mythical creature known for being small yet ferocious.

Traveling RPG merchant for portfolio, 2013  (work in progress)
Concept, models and textures by Jordan PowersStill needs some work to make the shadows punch a bit more. I’m thinking of doing more old school vert lighting so I don’t have to mess with the textures.
